Life is busy!

My 'other life' is keeping me busy ....

I'm in lots of craft groups, and I'm promoting them during my residency.

Just in case you are free tomorrow, please come to Open Day at QSWFA (Qld Spinners, Weavers & Fibre Artists) at 12 Payne Street, Auchenflower, 9am-3pm ... no entry fee .... fibre supplies, handmade garments and other merchandise, cakes, plants, fashion parade, food and drinks.  I'll be inside the hall, so please come and say hello! Visit the website.

The Embroiderers' Guild exhibition "Embroidered Treasures" is on from 2 - 9 June at 149 Brunswick Street, Fortitude Valley, 9.30am - 3.30pm (last admission 2.30pm). $7 entry fee includes a catalogue. Visit the website.

As well as working at the gardens, I'm still doing calligraphy commissions for people ...

Here I am writing a lovely poem called "The rain on the leaves" by Pham Duy.
Writing on large sheets of paper is always a challenge ... and it's always on the last line that I make a mistake, and have to start again!

Here's the display I had on Mother's Day at the Gardens.

The children made cards for their mothers.

What I’m doing in the next few weeks ….

  1. Great to read your blog Tricia. It is exciting to see all the activities you have undertaken and to be kept informed about upcoming activities. They sound very interesting especially the wreaths. Well done and what a fantastic record of your many activities. I think the shelter looks wonderful. The "before" photo posted at the end of the series was great. Be proud of what you have achieved. JJ

  2. Hi Tricia - nearly 1/2 way through your year - everything looks really great - maybe you should use white-out when you make a mistake on one of your calligraphy pieces - no one would know!!!!!!
